Does the candidate show a systematic review — legality, indication, dose against organ function and weight, interactions, duplication — and act decisively when something is wrong, including refusing to dispense?

Can they perform and verify dosing, concentration, and quantity calculations, choose appropriate vehicles and beyond-use dates, and describe weighing, measuring, and documentation controls?

Do they prioritize the counseling points that prevent harm, use plain language, ask about current medications and conditions, and confirm understanding rather than reciting information?

Command of controlled substance registries, perpetual inventory, prescription monitoring databases, hazardous handling, disposal and destruction records, recalls, and what gets documented on the patient profile.

Ability to call a physician or dentist with a patient-specific concern and a specific alternative, handle pushback professionally, and answer drug information inquiries with sourced, actionable responses.

Handling of ordering, par levels, stock rotation and storage conditions, shortages, insurance rejects and prior authorizations, without letting throughput pressure erode verification.

Clear grasp of what may be delegated to technicians, how interns are progressively given responsibility, and how feedback and evaluation are delivered on real cases.
