Do you gather information, form a hypothesis, and confirm it with meter readings before replacing anything? Interviewers score the sequence, not the guess.

Current license for the jurisdiction, awareness of the active code cycle, and the ability to cite why an installation is done a particular way rather than 'that's how we always do it.'

Lockout/tagout with your own lock, live-dead-live verification, correct PPE and meter CAT ratings, and safe ladder, scaffold, and roof practice.

Quality of conduit bending and support, conductor pulling, box and conduit fill judgment, torqued terminations at breakers and transformers, and neat, labeled panels.

Reading electrical, architectural, and mechanical drawings together, sketching where prints don't exist, coordinating routes with other trades, and staging material and inspections.

Explaining findings in plain language, raising conflicts early, taking correction notices without argument, and leaving usable documentation behind.

Demonstrating, delegating appropriately, checking work before inspection, and correcting unsafe practice on the spot without damaging the working relationship.
